Our Story

If You Ask Addy: Our story began about 6 years ago during high school. Well... really about 10+ years ago if you count our time playing YMCA soccer together. Flash forward to my first day of cross country practice my freshman year of high school was the first time I spoke to Alex back in 2017. We were doing a long run throughout town and I remember looking over at this guy thinking "wow he's really slow and out of shape". I guess you couldn't say that it was love at first site. I told him that I recognized him from playing soccer as kids (of course Alex wouldn't remember) and I even told him that he was really slow. A few weeks later Alex rejected me (probably because I told him he was slow) and we didn't actually begin dating till March 31st of 2019. Alex and I shared the same friend group in high school and he was a senior and I was a sophomore which meant that he pretty much had to drive me everywhere in the beginning of our relationship. I knew that Alex was the one for me way before all this when he would selflessly give me rides to literally every school event even though I was completely out of the way and he never complained once. Not only would he do that for me, but he was the first to offer anyone a ride or a helping hand and that describes just who Alex Clark is. Alex is the type of friend that would answer your phone call in the middle of the night even if he's only met you one time. I think thats the difference in our relationship is the fact that we were friends before we started dating and I know I can always count on him to be a friend when I need one.

Flash forward a couple more years and its been 5 months since I have seen Alex. Alex joined the Air Force and had left for basic training back in 2020 during the start of COVID and we could not see each other that entire time due to circumstances. Communicating through letters once a week and receiving one phone call a month was not ideal for anyone. Since we could only communicate through letters and until you go through something like that it literally felt as if he just fell off the face of the earth and had died. Alex and I's first date ever was stargazing and we always liked to look at the moon together. Many nights I would just stare at the moon just knowing that this was at least the same moon he's staring at. But I knew our relationship was strong and we always told ourselves that "absence makes the heart grow fonder" and it definitely did.

A couple years later Alex proposed to me on Christmas Eve in 2023 and it was one of the best days of my life and I cant wait to spend the rest of my life with him!
